Description

Ansible is an open source, multi-purpose automation tool written in Python. It allows you to carry out tasks with simple structured YAML files. This talk demonstrates the basics of Ansible and how to use it to automate your code deployments, looking at a simple Drupal build. We also touch on other tools required, such as CI and other supporting software.

Prerequisites (concepts or base knowledge expected to attend)

 A working knowledge of Drupal and drush and some Linux/Mac experience with ssh and bash - although Ansible can be run on Windows, this talk will be delivered using Linux

What will the audience have learned after your session?

Installing Ansible, the basics of Ansible, how to make playbooks (specifically to deploy Drupal), how to trigger Ansible with CI tools, high level knowledge of some other supporting software
