By asplamagnifique,

It is with great impatience that we announce the first name on the list of keynote speakers scheduled for our camp: Robin Chalas.

Who are you Robin?

Robin is a Software Architect & OSS Maintainer involved into the PHP/Symfony ecosystem for a more than a decade, and works as CEO and consultant @baksla.sh.

As a Core Team Symfony membrer, he contributes to the framework by fixing bugs and security vulnerabilities but also bringing new features to its core, continuously improving its design but also helping contributors to contribute on Symfony and other popular community packages he maintains.
As a Consultant, he enjoys pointing technical teams of any size to the right direction based on his experience with designing large software systems.

Also, he loves helping and sharing his knowledge through participating to support platforms, reviewing contributions and speaking at tech conferences wordwide
When he's away from keyboard, Robin is either petting his cats, growing his plants or taking an apero while playing Pétanque.

Robin est architecte logiciel et mainteneur Open-Source impliqué dans l'écosystème PHP/Symfony depuis plus d'une décennie. Il codirige la société  pour laquelle via laquelle il fait également du consulting (et sponsor de notre évènement).

But what is he going to talk to us about?

The Symfony Console Gets a Makeover!

The Console is one of the most downloaded PHP packages in the world. Frameworks, CMS and e-commerce platforms: it's everywhere.

The more widely a package is used, the harder it is to evolve. Every fix can impact millions of users.
Yet since 2010, the component has never stopped improving thanks to its countless contributors — without ever breaking its backward-compatibility promise.

Today, the Console is getting a makeover. A few key contributors have been working hard to rethink it from the ground up: eliminating long-standing limitations and unlocking new possibilities. Kicked off in Symfony 7.3, this transformation will reach its peak with version 8.1, releasing just days after AFUP Day 2026.

In summary, if you were still a little hesitant to book your tickets for Drupalcamp, we hope that this strong argument will convince you.
